What AI does
- Search. AI helps us find people whose experience matches a role's skills, including people who aren't actively applying.
- Interviews. In a Critical Hive interview, AI asks structured questions about the role, may ask a short follow-up, and summarises your answers against the role's skills, with quotes from what you said.
- Integrity checks. AI vision proctors the interview live — no video is recorded or stored. We also note signals such as pasted text or leaving the interview window, and capture a selfie at the start. Critical Hive does not collect photo ID. If a candidate progresses, the recruiter checks the selfie against identity documents themselves.
What AI never does
- Make a hiring decision or reject anyone automatically.
- Analyse your face, emotions, accent or tone of voice.
- Consider age, gender, ethnicity, disability or any other protected attribute.
- Let integrity signals change your skills scores. They are shown separately, for a person to review.
Your choices
- You're told before any AI interview how it is assessed, and asked for consent.
- You can ask for an interview with a person instead.
- You can ask what information we hold about you and how a recommendation was made.
For our Critical Hive customers
Organisations using Critical Hive decide how they use the results. We design the product so a person reviews every candidate, candidates receive a clear notice and a human option, and an audit trail records AI suggestions alongside human decisions. This supports customers' own transparency obligations, including Australian privacy requirements for automated decision-making that apply from 10 December 2026.
